REVOLUTIONARY ANTI-AGING SERUM FROM ICELAND
BIOEFFECT was founded by three Iceland-based scientists, who developed a technology for creating novel, biorisk-free proteins in plants for use in medical research. The unique biotechnology behind BIOEFFECT is based on our understanding of the genetic language: we have translated the genetic instructions on how EGF cellular activator (Epidermal Growth Factor) is made, into the genetic dialect of barley. That way we can instruct the barley plant to make EGF in its seed, that is identical to the EGF in our skin, and which the skin understands as its own. The barley is grown in inert volcanic pumice and watered with pure Icelandic glacial water.
As we age, our bodies produce less and less EGF, a naturally occurring human protein, which accelerates skin cell renewal as well as the production of collagen and elastin. The skin grows thinner, the surface epidermis becomes duller in appearance and wrinkles begin to form.
By harnessing the proven anti-aging power of cellular activators, BIOEFFECT skin care products stimulate the skin‘s own renewal process. The cellular activators work as a natural signalling system between skin cells, effectively “switching on“ cell repair while maintaining the appearance of young andhealthy-looking skin. The discovery of EGF cellular activators earned Dr. Rita Levi-Montalcini and Dr. Stanley Cohen the Nobel Prize in Medicine in 1986.
Made by scientists in Iceland, our barley-grown EGF is uniquely pure. It’s grown in abundant, inert volcanic pumice in an ecologically-engineered greenhouse which has a negative CO2 footprint. We use natural geothermal energy and pure subterranean glacial water, and we do not test on animals.
