Since how long are you working together? And why?

Blaine Halvorson - We both share a mutual appreciation and respect for the other’s craft, and abide by a similar work ethic. I think we’ve both just been waiting for the right project. It’s a beautiful thing when you can successfully meld two worlds into a united vision, and Le Bon Marché allows us both that ability.

Dr Woo - We have always talked about working on projects together, but this is the first time we will come to fruition. I think we have a mutual admiration for art and craftsmanship and our work is the outcome. It will be nice to see how our pieces turn out.

What did you particularly like about the project?

Blaine Halvorson - I create to tell stories. I love captivating peoples senses, and really exploring the individual’s unique experience, and point of view. This project allows me the craft an environment completely unique - as riveting, immersive, introspective, and magical as possible. It’s truly an open sandbox.

Dr Woo - I love the steeped heritage of Le Bon Marché and the relationship a place like this has with its community, it’s more than just a shop , it’s a hub for the neighborhoods culture and lifestyle. And a place to learn new things and nurture the past we know. I wanted to somehow touch that with my world, I’ve never been to a place like Le Bon Marché back Home.

What is your favorite part of the city?

Blaine Halvorson - The diversity. It truly is just a huge mixed bag. All cultures, all walks of life. All here for a reason.

Dr Woo - I really do have a love for Downtown, the old buildings are majestic , the art scene is growing, and the food is amazing. This area still holds such a historic feeling of the golden era.

If you had to describe the city to a foreigner in three words, what would these words be?

Dr Woo - Everything you need.

Blaine Halvorson - Welcome to America.

Tell us a particularly funny anecdote that happened to you in LA and couldn’t have happened anywhere else.

Dr Woo - My friends and I woke up early one morning and drove to the mountains to snowboard ...around lunchtime we drove down to the outskirts of the desert and rode dirt bikes around the tracks, and by the end of the day, we went to the beach and hung out and some of us surfed. What other city can you do all these things in one day!

Blaine Halvorson - So there I was… In Gucci loafers, at the Playboy mansion.
