The perfect swimsuit is a must-have for summer and spending time relaxing by the pool. This season, the one-piece swimsuit is making a comeback in bright colours, such as the one from Santiago, or in more neutral shades with a pretty bow, like the very sophisticated swimsuit from Marysia. For those who are loyal to the irreplaceable two-piece, RYE has kaleidoscopic and colourful bikinis to wear together or mix and match.
For the rest of the summer wardrobe, our favourites are light dresses and skirts in vivid and fresh colours, which show off a tanned complexion. The Lemlem clothing brand has tunic dresses for putting on as you come off the beach; they are hand-woven in a light, dusty-pink cotton, which feels like summer.
Summer is also – and above all – the time to take care of yourself and, in particular, your skin. In addition to a sun cream, it is important to pop a soothing cream or milk into your suitcase to apply after being out in the sun. The La mer and Kos brands have aftersun ranges with repairing properties, and they help to enhance a tan. When it comes to make-up, we will be going for light make-up and nude tones. Bobbi Brown makes eyeshadow palettes in warm and metallic colours, which subtly illuminate the eyes.
You can discover this selection all summer at Le Bon Marché, and it will guarantee great holidays anywhere in the world. All that’s left to do is find your passport!
The summer selection from our booksellers
Ready for an adventure: “Le grand marin” by Catherine Poulain. Readers will be swept away by the talent of storyteller C. Poulain, who has produced an honest, gritty and highly autobiographical book, which has already been awarded 8 literary prizes.
Crime fiction for the summer: “Fay” by Larry Brown. A dark yet moving thriller, which is tinged with inevitability and carries us away, leaving a bitter aftertaste.
For an air of scandal: “L'argent des autres” by Justin Cartwright. Tubal & Co, the United Kingdom’s finest bank, is on the verge of scandal. Pretence and betrayal are the ingredients in an explosive, truly British cocktail!
