Design trend : Lunch by the water

As the weather gets warmer, what's better than an improvised lunch, on the grass or by the water, to enjoy a peaceful moment of freshness? This summer, Le Bon Marché unveils the "Lunch by the water" design trend: hand-crafted items, natural materials and warm colors combine to create an authentic and friendly atmosphere.

Un déjeuner estival improvisé

Summer is perfect for lunches with family and friends, arranged at the last minute with what's available, around a table laid whithout too much thought.

Improvised lunch doesn't mean laying a neglected table though: traditional craftmanship and fabrics made from natural fibres help establish a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

For a friendly moment under the sun, the table gets accessorized with authentic items: handcrafted ceramics by the Portuguese brand CASA CUBISTA stand alongside faire trade hemp baskets by MAHATSARA.

Furniture is inspired by the "guinguettes", these restaurants located on the shores of the Seine or Marne rivers and that were very popular in the late XIXth century: typical Parisian wicker benches by PHILIPPE MODEL get modernized by bright colors while pillows with graphic patterns by ÉLITIS warm up the atmosphere and provide extra comfort.
